What Medications may take during the pregnancy?
The following non-prescription drugs may be taken during the pregnancy and while you are breast-feeding, just follow the package instructions.
Diarrhea: Kaopectate, Imodium
Constipation: Milk of Magnesia, Colace, Surfak, Metamucil
Indigestion: Mylanta, Maalox, Rolaids, Tums,.
Sore Throat: Chloraseptic, Throat Lozanges
Nausea: Emetrol, Ginger Capsules
The following non-prescription drugs may be taken according to package instructions after your 2nd trimester. Some, but not all, prescription drugs may be listed as well.
Indigestion: Zantac, Tagamet, Nexium, Protonix.
Fever, Headache, Cold, and Cough: Tylenol (Regular Strength, Extra Strength), Tylenol Cold,
Tylenol Sinus, Robitussin DM, Formula 44 Cough
Creams over-the-counter for vaginal yeast infections: Monistat, Gyne-Lotrimin
Allergies: Benadryl, Claritin, Zestril.
If no relief is felt with the above drugs after following the product directions, or if symptoms worsen,
or if you have a fever over 100, please call our office. If another Doctor gives you a prescription medication, please let us know prior to taking it. You may visit your dentist and dental work is safe during the pregnancy, just inform your dentist of your pregnant.
